OX FARM TOUR - A once in a

Windy Valley Muskox at Nash Farms is one of
the world’s unique opportunities: to see
muskox, living much as they did thousands of
years ago, surrounded by the beautiful Alaska
wilderness. The muskox is one of the
earth’s last remaining prehistoric
animals, alive at the time of the mammoth in
the Pleistocene period. The chance to
see a living muskox is rare as the ancient
animal exists today in only a few regions of
the world, of which one is Alaska. In a visit
to Windy Valley Muskox, you’ll learn
about the muskox: its history, how it
lives and is cared for, and about the qiviut,
produced from the soft undercoat of the
muskox. It is the warmest and most
luxurious fiber in the world, valued for
clothing by Arctic peoples for thousands of
years. In the late spring and early
summer, you’ll have unforgettable
opportunity to see and photograph baby
muskoxen, one of the most adorable animal
babies. Windy Valley Muskox is the largest
privately-owned herd in the United States and
among the largest in the world.
